2 Year's in our new House! Where we started, where we are.

We have officially been in our house for 2 years now. It's really odd because some days it feels like we've been here way longer and sometimes it feels like we just moved in! Either way . . . we're happy to be here and feel very blessed that we are able to live in a good neighborhood, with great neighbors.
I found some, TERRIBLE, before pictures (they were all cell phone camera pictures, and not 'good' IPhone picture . . . I'm talking Motorola flip phone pictures).

So grab something to drink and maybe a snack because this is going to be a LONG POST!

Outside:

I don't actually have a starting picture of the outside, but here's one from last year after we planted the hydrangeas and boxwood.
Here's this year:

Front hall:

My favorite part of the house has to be the paneled walls in the front hall.
After:

Office:

We painted all the of the Olive green paneling in Martha Stewart's Heavy Cream. Added some Custom Ikea bookcases.

 Dining Room:

We changed the chandelier, added a barn door, and my favorite addition . . . the new jute rug.

Kitchen:

Changed out the pendants over the island. Used the space above the cabinets to store our Cookbooks.
And added some window shelves above the sink:
 After:

Living Room:

We filled in the weirdly shaped cut out above the fireplace with a piece of MDF on hinges for storage behind, and painted it the same color . . . most people didn't know that it actually opens up!

Laundry Room:

Super basic laundry room, we took away a cabinet, added a hanging rod, a counter top, some big wide stripes, window treatments. And now, it's my favorite room in the house.

Staircase:

We painted out the Olive Green paneling on the staircase as well, Added a couple of birdy prints!

Master Bedroom:

Did some DIY'd paneling on the wall behind the bed (one of my favorite projects to date)
Added a fireplace to the other side of the room.
Phew . . . I think that might be the longest post on Mini Manor! I hope you enjoyed it!

If you have a second we would LOVE to know what you're favorite rooms or projects were !!!??

  2. 2 years?!!! Hard to believe. Elie was still in college, and now Katie is!! One favorite? REALLY?!! You know I love everything you do, but if I had to narrow it down I'd have to say hands hands down your Master Bedroom. The wardrobes and the fireplace are amazing. Project, definitely the barn door!

  10. I like your home, it is really cozy. I am esp. in love (don't laugh!) with your laundry room and envy you the two blue machines ... here, they only sell white washing machines and tumblers, I had never seen blue ones. And whenever one of our machines needs to be replaced, I will LOOK for blue ones!!! ;)
The next best thing is the barn door, I definitely want one in my home. And the pendants in your kitchen are also very nice.
Cannot believe you did that in only 2 years. we've been in our home for 2 years, too, and I still have many projects on my list...

  13. Your house looks just beautiful, Ashli. Today I posted an article on my blog bragging about YOUR laundry room! I still can't get over the brilliance of the piggy bank addition to the landscape.

  14. Your home is just beautiful. Comfortable and inviting. I love the cohesive feel to it as well. I don't think I can choose just one project. We moved into our home 8 years ago on 10/29. We have not even come close to all the projects you have done!!! We are working on things, but big things, like new windows. Builder grade (aka poor quality especially living in WI where the temps dip below zero) windows don't cut it. We are slowly getting things done around here.. windows, adding drop in laundry tub in the laundry room, board and batten walls in the laundry, new sink and faucet in the kitchen. And the list goes on.

  15. I love the whole house but pinned your living room a few months ago as inspiration for our new living room makeover! I seriously have looked at that pinned picture a dozen times....mmmkay more like a hundred times. We actually just finished painting our room and used the same color you did and I am soooo happy with the results(typically I suck at picking out paint colors so I made a rule I don't use a color unless I've seen a blogger use it in their house first!)I am curious where you found your coffee table at? Been looking for something similiar.

  18. Oh Miss Ashli you have done a wonderful job!!! Umm . . . and so have you Mr. Ashli :) My favourit thing is actually two things; the barn door and the panelling. Both would look amazing in my own home - now to convince my Mr. that it would look incredible. Love your blog, love your house, love you sista!

  20. Wow I have been in my home for almost a year and it barely looks any different than when we moved in. We haven't even painted yet. You inspire me everyday. Definitely love the laundry room and the fireplace in the bedroom. Both are so unique. It has been fun to follow along with your transformation.

  21. All looks great.......I feel the same as the lady who commented above me (LindseyB)
I've been at my house for 1.5 years and it sort of looks the same too. Probably something to do with raising my 6 and 8 year old maybe.... Regards Kathy A, Brisbane, Australia

  23. Time flies when your having fun is what I always say. I love the look of your home but my favorite space would have to bee the paneling on the wall of your master bedroom. The living room would be a close second favorite.

  28. I love everything you've done. The wall treatment in the master bedroom is definitely on my list of favorites. Did you tell anywhere exactly how you did that for such a good price? Also, I love the magic you did with the Billy bookshelves and hope to do that in an area of our new home.

  30. Your house is one of my very favorites in blogland - you really have an eye for design! Thank you for sharing it with us.

  31. omgosh! how do you expect me to pick JUST one project?!?!?! ok after much argueing with myself i've decided i can have two choices because one is so dear to my heart (cuz i'm struggling with that same room right now) and one is the most awesomely (yes it's a michelle word) done project in your house. so the dear to my heart cuz i'm in my own throws of hell trying to deal with mine is the laundry room! ours isn't small but i think they completely forgot about it and just threw it in anywhere and forgot to take dimensions! we can't open our garage door all the way because the dryer blocks it with where the exhaust it. and the washing machine sticks out past the wall edge that is actually a door jam but you cant open said door because the washing machine blocks it. seriously i think they forgot their tape measures that day! and just the coolest one is your bedroom fireplace. cuz i luv how much more storeage and closet space lee gave you and omw who WOULDN'T want a fireflace in their bedroom???? luv it all tho really!!
