Spring Cleaning Outfit

I love March! It means it's time for Spring Cleaning. I've spent the last couple days knocking tasks off of the old "To Do" list. This weekend Lee's going to get around to his Spring "Honey Do" list and we should have a great spring cleaning post ready for you next week, but I thought today I'd share my GO TO spring cleaning outfit:
You can see the sources for these items HERE.

A pair of loose jeans, a striped tee and a pair of runners are my favorite spring cleaning tools. I wear a clean pair of runners around the house when I do a lot of chores, it's way easier on your feet then running around in sock feet with no support (I also have a pair of rubber soled slippers for the task too). A headband is a MUST HAVE, and a pair of good fitting rubber gloves are priceless!

Does anyone have a spring cleaning outfit must have??

  1. You look cute to clean. :) I put on old clothes to clean. That way when I clean or work in the yard, I am not ruining good clothes. Can't wait to read your spring cleaning post next week.

  7. OK, am giggling. That outfit is waaaaaay cute, but @ $489.00, the jeans are a little too precious for me to clean house in, LOL!

    1. Haha I definitely don't clean in $500 jeans, in fact I don't own $500 jeans, but I guarantee if I did . . . I wouldn't be cleaning in them haha!

  9. definitely. I use leggins, pink gloves, a headband for sure and shoes with rubber soles since I tend to climb the bathroom walls so I can scrub it. I am one of those who looks forward to cleaning.

  10. I am not nearly as cute. I tend to clean in yoga pants and a tank top. Shoes are a good idea, I normally clean in bare feet which is not the best idea.

  11. Only YOU would look so darn cute cleaning!! LOL When doing the heavy duty spring cleaning around here I am either in capri yoga pants with an old t-shirt, or shorts and t-shirt, usually barefoot. It is already 80 degrees here today! Hadn't thought about the headband...do usually wear a pony tail, but since my hair is shorter this year the headband will be a great idea!

  12. I have to agree with the comment above ....... Only YOU would look so darn cute cleaning!!! I can't wait to put on a pair of flip flops!!! Can you believe the sleet we are having? Mother nature is going in the wrong direction, is she drunk?

  14. Since it gets so hot in Western Australia I have a small collection of light cotton dresses (mostly gifts from Bali) that I often wear for housework.

In fact, last weekend I couldn't be bothered changing so ended up helping my husband with demolition work and lugging heavy stuff out to the front verge for pickup in a very cute little white dress.

I figure I'll need to wash whatever I'm wearing anyway, so I may as well look nice while cleaning or doing renovations!

  15. I love it! Finding a Spring Cleaning outfit so sounds like something I would do. :-)

Do you have a Spring Cleaning Checklist? I've read through your old spring posts, but can't find aything that lists out everything you do. I'd love to see that!

  16. I think an apron is a MUST!

Do you own a Dyson vacuum? We are in the market for a new vacuum, leaning towards a Dyson. Our only hesitation is that we have LOTS of hard floors--tile and hardwood. Currently we sweep, and then vacuum up the piles. Every vacuum we have tried spins the dirt all over. I would love to streamline the process! I can't find a clear review anywhere. Would appreciate your opinion.

    1. Hi Erin,
Oh, to dyson or not to dyson! haha
ummm . . . I'm torn on the dyson debate. We've had ours for years now, and while it works great! I don't really know if it works $700 great (not that we spent that, we bought ours off craigslist). That being said It's amazing on hardwood floors. Ours came with the flooring attachment and that works so well! The machine itself also has a bare floors setting which works really well, I prefer using the attachment because it's smaller and can get under furniture easier. The bare floors setting definitely doesn't blow the dirt around!!! If you are mainly cleaning bare floors the dyson is awesome!!! If you were doing lots of carpet it's still awesome but maybe not $700 of awesome! haha
I hope that helps you a bit! Thanks for asking my opinion!

  17. I just wear whatever I start the day out in. Funny though, because yesterday after reading your 'spring cleaning' post I went off to 'spring clean my master bedroom and bathroom - even though its only early autumn here in New Zealand. oh well, I'm early!

Thanks for your inspiration, I now have two vases of flowers on my dresser.

  18. Love your must haves. From the meyers (for windows for us) to the dyson, there are plenty of similarities. Time to get to cleaning this weekend.

  19. Erin--I own a dyson and I have hardwood floors and it does great! It never spits out the dirt. It is the best one I have ever used!

  20. That clothing choice you put up there is very cute but in real life I know I and millions of others wear plain, comfy house clothes since we get in the nitty gritty of cleaning that sometimes involves Clorox with all its glorious bleach stains!!! But, thanks or the visual aid on the board...we can only dream we look that good when doing major house cleaning

  21. Please tell me you do not clean wearing $489 jeans!! : o )
