Laundry Room: Ironing Board LOVE!

I wish I could open this post, by declaring my well thought out design plan for the laundry room, something like "I always planned on buying a crazy ironing board cover, that had the exact color of our laundry machines in it" but really I was shopping for Dr.Pepper Cherry in Target and while browsing I came across this fabulous cover for around $10. It was bright, fun and like I said before it has the exact color of our washer and dryer in it!

It's made by room essentials . . . you can't miss it, it's in a big orange package. And like I said it's was somewhere around $10, I can't find my receipt (sorry!). I hope you like it as much as I do. I thought a boring room like a laundry room could use a little whimsy!!

A large hook later and our laundry room corner went from this:

Hopefully this weekend we'll be tackling the last of the laundry room to do's, we have to put a counter on top of our machines, should be fun :) hehe As always, we'll let you know how it goes ;)

  1. Love! Our laundry room is sooo tiny (can't fit an ironing board in it, it's in the master closet upstairs). Can't wait to see what you come up with for the counter. I would love one, but our machines have the controls on the top back. I love that you have a window in yours!!

  3. I like the print!... and the placement is perfect! I love ironing boards that are stored hanging. :)
Can't wait to see what else you have planned for the room.

  4. Love the colors and pattern of the cover! I need to change mine one day. Mine is of a half naked man. But I never iron so I don't think about the cover hardly at all. It caused me some embarrassment one time. I tried to use it as a "ramp" so my sick german shepherd could get in the car. It didn't work. I was running late so I leaned it up against my walkway wall instead of putting it back up. When I got home from the vet, the yard men were there working. And guess what stood out like a sore thumb when I pulled up. . .the ironing board!! I was too embarrassed to get out of the car until the guys moved to another part of the yard. Live and learn!

  8. I'll include the washing machines in the laundry room reveal post! So for now, you'll have to take my word on it . . . they match!

  10. We are planning a laundry room re-do...thanks to your amazing board and batten inspiration that you did in your bedroom. We plan on getting the Miele washer and dryer and believe me those cannot go in the laundry room as is with the 80's blue wallpaper boarder, so re-do it is. I'm not even sure I have clothing worthy of washing in a Miele let alone a laundry room worthy of housing them.

  11. Hi Ashli, I love your blog and now I am VERY in love with this stripped wall. Did you do it yourselves? If so, what was the colour? I live in the Uk and probably won't find the same brand, but one can dream! :)

    Thanks.

  12. Hi Thais,
We did paint the stripes ourselves,
We used just plain white for the white stripes and cottage white for the darker stripes.
Here's a link to our first post:

  13. So cute! I just found your blog via iHeart Organizing :) Can't wait to see what you do with a counter for your washers. We need to do something on ours so I have a better folding space.

  14. I just found your blog and I LOVE it!! Question- what type of hook did you use to hang the ironing board? My husband found a hideous, bright orange hook that will show up over/around the ironing board and I'm on the hunt to find something else that will work. Thanks!

    1. We used a BIG double hook you can find in the garage section of Home Depot!
If you have a second we have a picture of the exact hook on our facebook page. You can see it under pictures! :)
      Hope that helps
