Book Review: Penny Pinchers Club

For possibly the first time I'm reviewing a novel!! :) I don't usually read novels . . . I don't know why (I'm very introspective as you can tell :p).
I'm much more of a non-fiction reader, I LOVE a book that can inspire me to do something, take some action, whether it's making greener choices, going organic, gardening or organizing I LOVE a good How To: usually this doesn't take me into the fiction side of the library with the exception of The Penny Pinchers Club.

I think The Penny Pinchers Club, by Sarah Strohmeyer bridges this gap, it inspired me to watch what I was spending money on, and showed new ways to save money while still being entertaining. The Situation Kat, the main character, finds herself in is a little bit of a stretch but the characters are so believable that you could almost imagine them in your own day to day life :)
Minus the handsome millionaire trying to marry you . . . I don't know about you but I don't have to many handsome millionaires begging me to marry them.
I think the Penny Pinchers Club is chick lit at it's finest. With the bonus of frugal inspiration, money saving TIPS, and a couple of steamy love scenes thrown in for your enjoyment, or maybe just
mine . . . (oh I hope my mom isn't reading this) (who am I kidding she probably is . . . HI MOM!)

I would definitely pick this one up! Now I'm finally going to bed after staying up well past 2am two nights in a row, reading the penny pinchers club!  Geez, I'm a sucker for a good book!

p.s. the book is on sale at Amazon for $6!
AND
like always if you've read anything good in the last little while please let me know, I'm always looking for a great read!

  1. I always love your book recommendations! In fact...I have a few I need to get to. LOL

I just recently picked up (and have skimmed due to time constraints) Shift Your Habit by Elizabeth Rogers. Easy switches to go greener and save money.

  4. Gotta check out this book! Since you like non-fiction, I would highly recommend "Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption." Beautiful read and inspirational.

  5. I know you said you don't really read fiction, but may I recommend The Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. The first book is titled "One for the Money" and I believe they go up to book sixteen now. they are the FUNNIEST books I've ever read!!!!!

  6. This sounds very promising! I'm always on the lookout for books on improving personal finance, and the fact that there's a love story thrown in makes it even better. Thanks for the tip, I'll be looking out for this :)
